Dr. Massad is in private practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a General Dentist since July 1st 1975 directly after graduating from Loyola University School of Dentistry Chicago, Illinois. He joined several dental school programs as a preceptor early in his career with both Oklahoma University and Oral Roberts University Dental programs. He was a member of the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry where he rose to become one of the youngest board presidents and co-authored the Oklahoma Code of Ethics document.  He is a Fellow of both the American and the International College of Dentists, a Regent/Fellow of the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics, a member of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics and is an honorary member of the American College of Prosthodontists. He has authored numerous publications in the Journal of  Prosthetic Dentistry and in 2009 with 2 other authors received the best clinical article of the year. He has been honored by the Chicago Dental Society receiving the Gordon Christensen Award for Outstanding lecturer of the year. He holds active positions as an Associate Professor, Department of Prosthodontics, University of Tennessee Health Center, Memphis, Tennessee, School of Dentistry, Memphis, Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry, Tufts Uni-versity School of Dental Medicine, Boston, Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, University of Texas Health Science Center, School of Dentistry, San Antonio, Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Restorative Dentistry, Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, Loma Linda, CA.

He has previously held appointments at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Oklahoma, and past Director of Removable Prosthodontics at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Arizona and from 1992 to 2003 was an associate faculty at the Pankey Institute in Florida. 

Dr. Joseph Massad has lectured in more then 12 countries and has presented more than 600 presentations to dental associations around the globe. He is proud to begin each new presentation by thanking his teachers, Drs. Ken Rudd, Tom Shipmon, L D Pankey, John Frush and Frank Schiesser for their tutoring and encouragement to continue improving the lives of the edentulous patients.
