I received my DDS degree in Iran in 2003 and worked in private practice as a general dentist for almost six years. An enthusiasm for research drew me to Canada where I enrolled in a Master of Craniofacial Science program in the Faculty of Dentistry, University of British Columbia in 2010. My research focused on oral health epidemiology, mainly about oral health-related lifestyles in Vancouver inner city schools. Concurrently with the masters program, I enhanced my academic instructional skills through UBC continuing education courses and workshops and became a tutor for undergrad dental students in Professionalism and Community Services, facilitating them in oral health promotion programs. I started my Prosthodontics program in 2013 and expect to finish a Combined MSc/Prosthodontics diploma in 2016. My research interests are in prosthodontics, oral health promotion, and quality of life particularly in elderly population. After graduation my plan will be to pursue private practice in prosthodontics in BC as well as part-time academic teaching in the Faculty of Dentistry. When not studying, I enjoy spending time with my lovely husband Reza.
